Hunter Grants Winner Steps Toward His Music Career
Despite the unfamiliar times, Lorenzo Wood-- the grant recipient of Hunter’s Grants in 2019, has been busy taking steps toward his music career. In his recent email to our staff member, he excitedly mentioned that he will be “committing to USC Thornton as a music production major”, furthering his pursuit in music.
Lorenzo has been performing as a singer/musician since the age of 14. He also operates a recording studio for his projects along with other upcoming musicians in the East Bay area of Oakland, California. With the assistance of Hunter’s Grants, Lorenzo was able to purchase a list of equipment which allowed him to release his latest single and other collaboration projects.
His most recent single “More Than Friends”, describes a hopeful transition between friendship and relationship in a “soft electro pop track”. Lorenzo also has been collaborating with other young musicians in an effort to help those who are in need during the outbreak of COVID-19 by releasing a cover called “Falling” by Harry Styles. In his Youtube channel, Wood stated that the net proceeds from downloads and streams for the first 2 months will go towards the relief funds for COVID-19.
