About Hunter’s Fund
OUR MISSION
Hunter's Fund is dedicated to empowering young people to pursue their passions and interests. We believe in supporting a diverse range of talents and providing the financial resources necessary for individuals to explore their curiosities.
In addition, we aim to reduce the number of accidents caused by distracted driving by promoting safe driving habits among young people.
Our mission is inspired by Hunter, a young man who was full of energy and enthusiasm and who always inspired those around him. We strive to carry on his legacy by helping others to shine and follow their passions.
OUR INSPIRATION
The Hunter Brooks Watson Memorial Fund, also known as Hunter's Fund, was founded in honor of Hunter, a young man whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident.
In the wake of his loss, his family and communities, including The Potomac School, Syracuse University, and Mustique Island, sought a way to keep his memory and ideals alive.
As a result, Hunter's Fund was created to celebrate his life and interests by providing grants to young people in the fields of performing arts, music, computer science, and entrepreneurship. The fund is unique in that it allows recipients to choose their own projects.
Additionally, Hunter's Fund works to raise awareness about distracted driving and promote the safety of young drivers on the road.
Although the loss of Hunter is deeply felt by his loved ones, it is comforting to see the positive impact his life has had on so many others and the good that is being done in his memory.
Hunter's spirit and love will always be remembered, and although his time on earth was too short, he made the most of every day he lived.
HUNTER’S TEAM
Hunter's Team, formerly known as the Founders Committee, is a group of close friends who work to advance the mission of the Hunter Brooks Watson Memorial Fund, also known as Hunter's Fund. They are responsible for fundraising, evaluating grant applications, awarding grants, mentoring grant recipients, and organizing safe driving programs on school campuses. These individuals were instrumental in the creation of Hunter's Fund and ensured that the grants offered would reflect the diverse interests and passions that Hunter pursued during his brief but meaningful life.
