Restaurant’s like these events because you help bring new and returning customers to the Restaurant.
Your chapter can achieve your fundraising goals and create an opportunity to socialize while supporting Hunter’s Pledge.
Tips for a Successful Event
1. APPLY EARLY – Some restaurants have limited times and dates available for Dine and Donate events. Some may need to schedule one to two months in advance. Check TODAY on the 33 restaurants we’ve identified to find the one you are interested in partnering with and determine their availability.
2. Promotion is key – Spreading news of your event is a crucial to success. You will need as many friends and brothers attend to maximize your donation. The more supporters you bring into your Event the more funds you will raise. Many restaurants will provide you with customized flyers to pass out physically and virtually. Plan ahead so you will have time to distribute flyers and build support.
3. Read and RE-READ the rules of your restaurant – Restaurants that host profit-shares may have different rules. Be sure to read their specific rules regarding planning, marketing, and event attendance. For example, most restaurants will not let you pass out flyers on company property or during the event. Most restaurants list these rules in their event application or on their fundraising website.
4. Be prepared – Almost all restaurants require Hunter’s Pledge tax identification number, our W-9 form and proof of nonprofit status. All of these items can be downloaded below.
Best Ways to Promote
Instagram - Begin posting your fundraiser several days before the Event.
Facebook - Post to your Phi Psi page and your Chapter Board.
Flyers - Merchants may provide special flyers to help your chapter spread the word.
Tabling Coupons - Pass the flyers or coupons out at your Pledge Tables.
Signs - Don’t overlook placing posters or signs on campus bulletin boards! This will spread the message to more of your classmates and show Phi Psi is supporting Ending Distracted Driving.

What is Hunter’s Pledge?
]Hunter’s Pledge is a program of the Hunter Watson Memorial Fund, a nonprofit formed in memory of Phi Psi brother Hunter Watson. Hunter was killed as a passenger in a distracted driving accident when he was just 20 years old. The Fund works to reduce the number of deaths and injuries resulting from distracted driving by sponsoring Hunter’s Pledge safe driving campaigns on college and high school campuses throughout the United States to encourage young people to drive distraction-free by signing the pledge at campus tabling events.
Why is the cause important?
More than 3,000 people are killed each year in the United States in crashes involving distracted drivers - about 8 people every day. Distracted driving is a huge issue facing public health, as it threatens our own lives, as well as those of our friends, families, and neighbors. Losing someone to distracted driving impacts the lives of friends and families for a lifetime.
How will these funds be used?
Fundraising for Hunter’s Pledge helps sustain existing safe driving campaigns and makes possible expansion of the program to other campuses. Funds raised are used to supply schools with tabling kits and awareness building materials on the dangers of distracted driving and encourage students to sign Hunter’s Pledge Not to Drive Distracted.
You WILL be asked for Proof of HUnter’s fund Charity Status and address.
