Why is signing a pledge important?

Studies have shown that signing a written pledge can change behavior by 47% more than any other incentive. That is why we ask students to sign pledges to drive safely and without distraction during on-campus events, which are supported by donations.

Who was Hunter Watson?

Hunter was a student about to enter his junior year at Syracuse University when he lost his life as a passenger in a distracted driving accident. In Hunter's memory, Phi Kappa Psi fraternity set up tables around campus to encourage students to sign a pledge not to drive distracted. Hunter's family recognized the importance of this effort and established Hunter's Fund to fund similar campaigns on campus in hopes of changing the driving behavior of young people to prevent accidents that can change the lives of their friends and families forever.

What other programs does Hunter’s Fund offer?

In addition to Hunter’s Pledge, our program whose mission it is to end distracted driving, Hunter’s Fund also supports Hunter’s Grants. Each year Hunter’s Grants awards more than a dozen grants annually to passionate young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have an idea they wish to explore but lack the financial resources to pursue the idea. Those interested in a grant may apply at https://www.hunterwatson.org/grant-application-survey.
