Are you connecting the dots?

You'd be astounded by how significantly your school “experiences" can influence your future.

These encounters form 'dots' from your past that begin to interlink as you advance towards your future.

See how these Dots may have affected your own life or might affect your future.

Connecting these dots isn't possible when looking forward, but only retrospectively. Thus, we must have faith that our present experiences will somehow shape our future.

Let's illustrate this with a real-world example.

Our co-founder, Jerry Watson, was persuaded by a friend to attend a marketing club meeting during his sophomore year of college.

The speaker - a publishing company's president - left a profound impression on Jerry. He was so moved that he took a moment to express his admiration to the speaker.

As graduation neared, Jerry remembered that this individual was the only business leader he had encountered during college.

He decided to drop him a note, reminding him of the memorable lecture and asked for referrals to other business professionals to whom he could send his resume.

The speaker obliged and encouraged Jerry to mention his name.

Subsequently, Jerry received an interview invitation from each of these referrals and offers from each of them, but none truly resonated with him.

Unexpectedly, the speaker later checked in on Jerry's progress. When Jerry shared his feelings, the speaker offered him a job.

Jerry became so engrossed in working for the company that when it was sold to a larger firm, he felt inspired to start his own publishing business.

He went on to publish thousands of books before selling his own company.

All of this sprouted from a simple college lecture - a 'dot' Jerry wasn't even aware of at the time.
