Hunter Watson Award Recipients Launch Coding Camp in Moldavia

CODE++ was the recipient of the Hunter Watson Entrepreneurial Awards for the Syracuse Launchpad Competition this year.

We live in a tech-driven, computer-reliant world, so a basic understanding of computer science is vital to a successful career. Gabriela Coada and Claire Howard, graduates of the Girls Who Code Computer Science Summer Immersion Program, are paying it forward.

They started Code++ to increase the computer science educational opportunities for young people in developing countries.  They plan to teach computer science camps in Stefan-Voda, Moldavia

In such countries with struggling economies, mastering computer skills has the power to give young people a stable and prosperous future.  In Moldavia, access to computer science learning opportunities is rare so the camps will help fill this void by teaching the fundamentals of computer science.
