As the flagship school for Safe Driving Week, Syracuse University’s New York Beta chapter has led the way since the first campaign in 2017. This year’s campaign, held from September 22-29, continued that tradition with a full week of events, despite challenging weather.

The chapter began with their annual candlelight vigil, honoring Hunter Watson and Vinny Maugeri, whose memories are the driving force behind the campaign. As always, Syracuse had incredible turnout, with over 4,200 pledges signed to support safe driving.

Tri Delta sorority joined New York Beta this year, helping with fundraising efforts and broadening the reach of the campaign. Syracuse’s commitment has consistently made them one of Safe Driving Week’s top supporters, setting the highest fundraising records each year.

This campaign not only builds awareness but also keeps alive the memory of those who inspired it.
