US NL December 2024 - Allegheny College blends SDW, Halloween festivities, and local community fun
Philanthropy Chair: Eric Fredette
This fall, the brothers of Pennsylvania Beta took Safe Driving Week to a new level. From August 27 to September 2, they hosted successful events to promote safe driving, marking their third time participating since 2022.
The chapter made impressive progress, collecting over 300 pledges at their tabling event to encourage focused, distraction-free driving. To boost their fundraising, the brothers also sold ice cream on campus, a crowd-pleaser that helped draw attention to their cause.
Safe Driving Week happened to line up with Blue and Gold Weekend, which brought many alumni back to campus. This gave Allegheny brothers the chance to connect with alumni in person, gaining additional support for their mission.
To build on their success, Pennsylvania Beta organized its first-ever “Freaky 5K” in late October. This Halloween-themed race featured costume contests and pumpkin carving.
Allegheny College’s commitment to Safe Driving Week and creative fundraising show just how dedicated they are to making a difference.
