We launched a new publication!

Every Wednesday, Hunter’s Team comes together via Zoom to discuss all things Safe Driving Week. The past couple of weeks, we’ve had one thing on our minds: Grand Arch Council.

What is the Grand Arch Council? According to Phi Kappa Psi’s official website, “Phi Kappa Psi’s Grand Arch Council (GAC) is the biennial supreme governing body of the Fraternity. Members come together from across the country to propose amendments, elect Executive Council members, and make committee recommendations for the Fraternity.”

Hunter’s Fund was lucky to be able to attend, so our meetings have been filled with brainstorming to make our appearance the best it could be. (You can see more GAC content on our instagram page!)

My coworker and Program Coordinator Heather came up with a fantastic idea: Why don’t we create a magazine just for Phi Psi brothers, so they can see the good work they’re doing with Safe Driving Weeks nationwide? While we’re at it, maybe we can inspire other Phi Psi chapters to host Safe Driving Week, too!

And then the Safe Driving Update was born!

As the Media Manager, it’s my job to turn ideas like Heather’s into reality. Working closely with my coworker, Debra (she makes magic with graphics), I was able to transform a list of schools, a folder full of images, and feedback from brothers themselves into a 9-page chronicle of smiling faces and successful Safe Driving Week events across 30 college campuses.

I even convinced the team to add a new color to our brand’s palette - I’ve been affectionately calling it Magazine Blue - that complements both Hunter’s Fund and Phi Psi colors, in my humble opinion.

Hunter’s Fund cares so much about the safety of young people. It just makes sense that we want to share in their victories, too.

I’ve heard that the Safe Driving Update was a big hit at GAC. I’m really proud of our new publication, and I’m proud of all the students that work with us to save lives every single day.

We treasure our relationship with Phi Psi. After all, the organization is represented at the very core of Hunter’s Fund – through Hunter Watson’s memory, his dad Jerry, and even through interns and Board members.

I hope you enjoy reading the Safe Driving Update as much as I enjoyed paginating it. While this is a limited edition publication that covers campaigns from Fall 2023 and Spring 2024, future issues of the magazine will come out every semester to allow more photos and in-depth content.
